Seonaidh McIntyre-Stephen

I set up WPW & Co, originally trading as Wisteria Private Wealth, in 2017. I specialise in working with business owners, large and small, and the self employed, particularly Advocates and Barristers and Coaches. I'm a qualified Financial Planner and a Financial Coach. I have worked in finance for more than 15 years, with most of it in the City of London, starting in private equity and investment banking and corporate finance before moving into the Executive Offices in an investment bank and UK wealth manager. I'm passionate about entrepreneurship and the human side of money, the psychology of money and financial wellbeing.

I am mummy to 3 children and I love working with businesses. Outside of running the business, I like reading anything to do with history and entrepreneurship, playing violin, dance and pilates. I also enjoy spending a bit of time coaching and mentoring other businesses.

About

I set up a Financial Planning Practice that sought to engage and empower professionals and business owners to help them to take control over their own financial planning and make better financial decisions. I spent more than 10 years working in the City, starting in investment banking and private equity and then moving across to wealth management. When I’m not working or with the family, I love reading, travel, music, Pilates, dance and theatre. I'm also a huge history lover!

I really understand why many people don't take financial planning advice.

I was working long hours and living in the moment and, despite working in finance all day long, I really gave little thought to my own financial planning. And as a result, I made a number of silly and costly mistakes when it came to my finances. I decided to seek out someone to help me take control of my money, but the many financial Advisers that I met did not feel like a good fit for me.

I didn't feel seen as an individual, nor were they interested in my goals and what was important to me - the conversations I had with Advisers existed mostly around product sales and it felt self-interested. I needed an accountability partner and someone to hold me to account on my actions (and inactions!). Meetings were technical, tedious and overwhelming. I felt disenfranchised, disempowered and lost. It all felt like an uphill struggle and as a result I didn't take any action.
